The Steamship Authority is seeking a Marine Operations leader to ensure safe, reliable daily ferry operations across the fleet. You will track regulatory compliance, oversee SQMS audits, and coordinate vessel moves and crew coverage, including acting in the Port Captain's absence.

Qualificações

• Minimum USCG Master Inland Vessels 1600 GT.
• Knowledge of USCG vessel inspection/certification and ISM Code.
• Strong organizational skills with ability to manage deadlines and corrective actions.

Responsabilidades

• Direct and coordinate vessel activities, including crew coverage and schedules.
• Lead vessel operations during events such as weather and service disruptions.
• Maintain fleet compliance calendar for certificates, inspections, licenses and permits (USCG, drydock, FCC).
• Monitor crew credentials and training compliance; maintain records for regulatory review.
• Inspect vessels for USCG and SSA safety/compliance; coordinate inspections and audits.
• Develop and review vessel policies within SQMS; ensure ISM/ISO adherence.
• Administer SQMS document control and non-conformity processes.
• Advise on operational changes to improve efficiency; review vessel logs.
• Assist investigations of accidents, incidents, injuries, near misses; recommend actions.
• Oversee training scheduling and fleet-wide training compliance.
• Participate in union contract negotiations and grievances as needed.
• Track operational performance and assist budgeting; may represent SSA to USCG.
