The Steamship Authority in Woods Hole, Massachusetts seeks an Assistant Port Captain to support Marine Operations, ensuring safe, reliable fleet performance and to act for the Port Captain when needed.

Key duties include directing vessel activities, coordinating schedules, maintaining USCG certificates and SQMS records, and leading internal and external audits in line with ISO/ISM standards.

Qualifications

• USCG Master Inland Vessel certification (1600 GT) required.
• Knowledge of USCG vessel inspection rules and the ISM Code.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage deadlines and records.

Responsabilités

• Direct and coordinate vessel activities and crew coverage, assist in schedules in coordination with Port Captain.
• Lead Marine Operations duty rotation and communicate with vessels during operations; assist in handling weather, casualties and service disruptions.
• Maintain fleet certificates, inspections, surveys, licenses, and permits; monitor due dates and document completion.
