Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Plumbing Designer to join a collaborative mechanical and electrical design team in the greater Indianapolis area. You will own plumbing design projects from concept through construction across diverse facilities, including industrial and commercial buildings.

The role emphasizes hands-on design, field support, and coordination with BIM, electrical, and construction management to deliver fully coordinated plumbing solutions with strong client interaction.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years plumbing design experience in commercial or industrial environments.
• Ability to design independently, including flow and load calculations, equipment sizing, and creating complete designs for fabrication and construction.
• Proficiency with Revit MEP for plumbing models and construction documents.
• Strong understanding of final deliverables and project coordination across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Develop plumbing construction documents for commercial, institutional, and industrial projects.
• Size domestic water, sanitary, and storm systems to meet codes.
• Size compressed air and gas systems including natural and medical gas.
• Create detailed drawings and specifications using Revit and related tools.
• Support proposals with field surveys and client meetings.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure constructability and design intent.
