Job summary

The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, AL is seeking a Plumber Utility Mechanic II to perform skilled journeyman work across heating, plumbing, mechanical piping, and related building systems. You will fabricate, install, maintain, and repair boilers, piping, water treatment, sewer, and HVAC distributions while providing leadership and traveling between campus sites.

The position offers a Monday–Friday 7:30am–4:00pm schedule and may require occasional shift, weekend hours, and extended shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Four years of plumbing, pipefitting, structural steel, boilermaker, millwright, boiler tender, steamfitter, or sprinkler fitter experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled journeyman-level work in heating, plumbing, mechanical piping and related trades.
• Fabricate, install, maintain and repair heating, plumbing and HVAC systems and associated equipment.
• Provide on-site leadership to other trades personnel and drive between campus sites.
