Comfort Systems USA, Inc. is looking for a Pipefitter Apprentice II in Birmingham, AL to assist in the installation and repair of commercial piping systems. This role is perfect for those with foundational pipefitting experience ready to work more independently.

The apprenticeship offers advancement opportunities while providing hands-on experience. Ideal candidates should have a high school diploma and basic knowledge of HVAC systems. The position supports both fieldwork and shop environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1–2 years of pipefitting or related HVAC trade experience in a commercial construction environment.
• Basic understanding of commercial HVAC and piping systems (chilled water, hot water, hydronic piping, etc.).
• Ability to lift 25–50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior pipefitters with the installation, modification, and repair of commercial piping systems.
• Safely operate hand tools and power tools used in pipefitting activities.
• Collaborate effectively with other trades and project team members.

Skills

Basic welding knowledge or willingness to learn

Basic piping math skills

Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints

Familiarity with common hand and power tools

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
