Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Corrections is seeking a qualified plumber to plan, organize, control, supervise, administer and complete the facility plumbing maintenance and repair program. The role emphasizes supervision of maintenance operations and the proper installation and upkeep of plumbing systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and experience in the installation, maintenance or repair of air, water, gas or waste disposal systems.
• Experience may substitute for the required diploma on a year-for-year basis.
• Must be able to supervise, direct, instruct, and work with other people.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, control, supervise, administer and complete facility plumbing maintenance and repair program.
• Responsible for program development, supervision of emergency plumbing maintenance and repair operations, and the installation, operation and maintenance of plumbing and sewage disposal systems.
• Position may require on-call rotation and/or 24-hour emergency repair.
