Job summary

Carrier Global Corporation, through Automated Logic, seeks a Lead PLC Field Engineer to provide end-to-end technical ownership of complex PLC-based control systems for a Sullivan, Indiana project. You will lead field startups, commissioning, and high-risk system integration on site.

The role requires strong PLC programming, industrial networking, and hands-on leadership across multiple disciplines. Travel up to 50% is expected; a valid driver's license is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 4+ years of professional experience in Controls, Industrial Automation, HVAC, Electrical Systems or Industrial Networking.
• Must possess a valid Driver’s License and be insurable by company.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Travel up to 50% based on project requirements.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead PLC Field Engineer for Sullivan, Indiana project from mobilization through startup and customer acceptance.
• Provide onsite responsibility for project execution, coordination, startup support, and commissioning readiness.
• Lead complex PLC programming, troubleshooting, and integration across systems.
• Develop and modify PLC sequences, interlocks, alarms, and fail-safe strategies.
• Mentor and develop junior field engineers and lead technical training.
• Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of significant system issues.
• Coordinate with project teams, customers, and equipment manufacturers to mitigate risks.
