Job summary

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) is seeking a Platform SoC Debug Lead Engineer to join our Server Platform Solution Engineering Group. You will lead validation and debug for EPYC and AI server platforms, coordinating with architecture, design, validation, firmware, and software teams to quickly resolve issues.

You will operate at silicon-to-system level, driving root‑cause analysis and ensuring program milestones are met. Excellent cross‑functional communication is essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

  • BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 12+ years of applicable experience in server/platform validation or debug.
  • Strong understanding of Server platform components and x86 architectures.
  • Experience with IO interfaces such as PCIe, CXL, and RAS.
  • Knowledge of BMC firmware, IPMI, Redfish, and remote management a plus.
  • Experience with captures using Oscilloscopes and protocol analyzers.
  • Proficiency in C, Python, and shell scripting for low‑level debug.

Responsibilities

  • Lead debugging for AI/Server SoC platforms across domains to meet milestones.
  • Collaborate with architecture, design, validation, firmware, and software teams to resolve issues.
  • Provide root-cause analysis for platform, SoC, and BIOS/firmware issues.
  • Improve debug capabilities by identifying common challenges and driving innovations with partner teams.
  • Manage issues, risks, and communications, including program status and opportunities.
