Morgan Stanley is seeking a Lead Platform Engineer for Parametric IT's Platform Engineering team in Seattle. Hybrid work arrangement, combining three days in the office with remote days, to empower cloud-native development and reliable delivery of complex applications.

The role focuses on architectural leadership, automation, and developer enablement across AWS/Azure, Kubernetes, and IaC tooling, while mentoring engineers and driving best practices to meet strategic goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 8+ years in hands-on Platform Engineering with leadership experience.
• Strong cloud-native solution architectures on AWS or Azure.
• Experience with IaC (Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proven ability to mentor and lead teams.

As a team, we:Consult and collaborate with cloud-native (AWS, Azure) and self-hosted application teams to deliver and operate reliable, performant, robust, and secure applicationsAutomate provisioning of non-production environment for application development and testingDesign, operate, and manage development toolchains and CI/CD pipelines to meet objectives for high-velocity delivery while also meeting control requirementsBuild and maintain container orchestration on KubernetesProvide observability via monitoring tools such as Datadog, Splunk, Sentry etc.ABOUT THE ROLEThe Lead Platform Engineer will partner with cloud-native application development teams with direct business alignment - empowering them to deliver quality software at high velocity, rapidly receive actionable feedback, and cultivating an environment of continuous experimentation. The successful candidate may be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit's incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
