Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on Platform Engineering (DevOps, SysOps, SRE) experience.
• 8+ years of hands-on experience with cloud-native solution architectures (AWS/Azure).
• Serve as technical lead for strategic projects with architectural guidance.
• Experience with AWS and/or Azure and IAC (Terraform) is required.

We partner with advisors, institutions, and consultants to build portfolios focused on what's important to them and their clients. About The Team

The Platform Engineering team is part of Parametric IT's Developer Experience department at Parametric and is vital to developer enablement and system reliability in all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).

As a team, we:

• Consult and collaborate with cloud-native (AWS, Azure) and self-hosted application teams to deliver and operate reliable, performant, robust, and secure applications


• Automate provisioning of non-production environment for application development and testing


• Design, operate, and manage development toolchains and CI/CD pipelines to meet objectives for high-velocity delivery while also meeting control requirements


• Build and maintain container orchestration on Kubernetes


• Provide observability via monitoring tools such as Datadog, Splunk, Sentry etc.

About The Role

The Lead Platform Engineer will partner with cloud-native application development teams with direct business alignment - empowering them to deliver quality software at high velocity, rapidly receive actionable feedback, and cultivating an environment of continuous experimentation. Additionally, the Lead Platform Engineer will create reusable components and workflows that deliver superior developer experience.

Primary Responsibilities

• Function as subject matter expert in the areas of delivering and operating reliable, performant, robust, and secure applications


• Serve as a technical lead for key initiatives, influencing technical strategy, driving best practices, and ensuring successful delivery of business objectives.


• Mentor and develop team members through coaching, knowledge sharing, and constructive technical guidance.


• Work with the development teams to design, document, create and maintain highly available systems


• Partner with the application development teams to create flows, processes, automation, and tooling


• Create an environment of continuous experimentation and learning


• Contribute to evolution of our architecture (cloud-focused) to increase its flexibility and ease of use


• Follow technology trends/tools and recommend improvements to our technology when appropriate


• Share experience, knowledge, and ideas with the team to improve processes and productivity


• Provide tier 2 and 3 escalations for related issues and questions

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required


• 8+ years of hands-on Platform Engineering (i.e., DevOps, SysOps, SRE) experience with a proven track record of people and thought leadership to achieve strategic objectives


• 8+ years of hands-on experience with cloud-native solution architectures and related platform support, i.e., Cyber Security, Infrastructure as Code (IAC), Observability


• Serve as technical lead for strategic projects, providing architectural guidance, driving technical decisions, and ensuring alignment across teams.


• Influence engineering standards, best practices, and technology direction while mentoring and developing less experienced team members.


• Partner with business and technology stakeholders to translate strategic objectives into scalable technical solutions.


• Ability to dive deep and get hands-on to contribute to platform engineering solutions


• Expertise in automation strategies for cloud-native solutions (pipelines, IAC, test suites)


• Proven experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms


• Experience implementing IAC - Terraform preferred


• Experience using GitHub and engineering YAML based ci/cd pipelines


• Experience implementing and operating container orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes)


• Developer enablement mindset with an ability to collaborate across technology teams


• Experience with Vulnerability Management tooling (SAST and SCA scanning) integration with SDLC toolchain


• Experience using Gen AI tooling for software development and testing productivity


• Expertise scripting with Python, BASH, PowerShell

Salary range for the position: $115,000 - $225,000/Yr. The successful candidate may be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit's incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component. Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $115,000 and $225,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs
