nytFlow is a social platform built around nightlife, designed to show what’s happening as it unfolds. Users can connect with friends, share their nights by checking in at bars and clubs, and see live activity across the city to understand where people are going out. We are launching initially in Philadelphia with plans to expand to other cities.
This is an early-stage startup, and we’re building the MVP now.
Role Overview
We are looking for a Lead Platform Developer to join the founding team and help build the core nytFlow application. This is a hands‑on, high‑ownership role where you will be responsible for shaping the technical direction of the product and leading development of the MVP.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end development of the nytFlow mobile/web MVP
- Translate product vision into scalable technical architecture
- Build core features: authentication and user profiles, social feeds and check‑ins, avenue pages and live activity tracking, basic admin and venue dashboards
- Select and implement the tech stack
- Own backend services, APIs, and data models
- Collaborate closely with the founder on product design and feature priorities
- Make key technical decisions and define the early engineering roadmap
- Write clean, scalable code to support future growth
Qualifications
- Experience building full‑stack or mobile applications
- Strong knowledge of modern frameworks (React, React‑Native, Flutter, etc.)
- Backend experience with Firebase, Supabase, Node.js, or similar
- Solid understanding of system architecture and data modeling
- Comfortable moving fast in an early‑stage startup environment
- Entrepreneurial mindset with strong ownership mentality
- Experience using Git and modern development workflows
Prior startup experience is a plus but not required.
