Job summary

United Overseas Bank Ltd. seeks a Lead Automation Engineer to guide the Platform Automation Services team in building and evolving internal platforms.

You will automate operational processes, improve reliability, and deliver self-service capabilities for internal users. The role combines software and platform engineering with DevOps and SRE leadership, requiring strong architecture skills and hands-on experience with OpenShift, Kubernetes, and modern observability tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, or related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of software engineering experience.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams or major technical initiatives.
• Strong full-stack development experience with Angular and Django.
• Experience developing APIs, microservices, and enterprise applications.
• Deep knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD processes, and software delivery practices.
• Experience with OpenShift Container Platform (OCP), Kubernetes, and private cloud environments.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, observability, and reliability engineering.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of Site Reliability Engineers and software engineers.
• Design, develop, and maintain internal platforms that automate operational processes.
• Build scalable, secure, and maintainable full-stack applications and platform services.
• Drive platform roadmaps and adoption strategies in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Lead incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
• Drive observability, monitoring, and reliability initiatives across platforms.
