Job summary

HSM is seeking an experienced Plastics Engineer to design and develop plastic components for multiple industries. You will create 3D CAD models, drawings, and BOMs, and drive parts through prototype, validation, and production launch.

The role emphasizes DFM, cost-effective design, and collaboration with tooling, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure robust, scalable production readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a plastics or related engineering field and relevant manufacturing experience.
• Experience leading new-product development from concept to launch.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD and engineering documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop plastic components and assemblies using injection molding and related processes.
• Create 3D CAD models, drawings, BOMs, and lifecycle documentation.
• Lead projects from concept through validation, launch, and production support.
• Apply DFM/ DFA and cost-focused design principles to products.
• Collaborate with engineering, tooling, and manufacturing teams to optimize tooling and processes.
• Support APQP activities and PPAP documentation.
