Job summary

This position emphasizes leadership, on‑the‑job training, environmental compliance, and reliable plant operation from the Control Room during normal and emergency conditions.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of Plant Operator Training Program with on‑the‑job training.
• Completion of Control Room Operations Training Program (Gas Plants) or demonstrated control room operations.
• Must obtain City of Houston First Grade Stationary Engineers License within 12 months of transition.

Responsibilities

• Maintain megawatt generation demands for the QSE and operate the unit safely and efficiently.
• Coordinate work of Plant Operators to ensure safety and reliability.
• Provide on‑the‑job training and skill enhancement to staff.
• Apply environmental rules and regulations to all work situations.
• Oversee safe operation of equipment from Control Room and plant systems during normal and emergency conditions.
