Job summary

CKS Packaging is seeking an experienced Plant Engineer to join our plant in Naugatuck, CT. The Plant Engineer will be responsible for improving the reliability, efficiency, safety, and performance of plant equipment, production processes, utilities, and infrastructure.

This position will work closely with Plant Management, Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Process Technicians to troubleshoot technical issues, improve equipment performance, support capital projects, reduce downtime and scrap,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering.
3–5+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing.
Plastic manufacturing or blow molding experience preferred.
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
Working knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, electrical controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, motors and drives, chillers and compressors.
Experience with capital projects and equipment installations.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment reliability.

Responsibilities

Provide engineering support for daily manufacturing operations.
Troubleshoot equipment, process and production issues and develop corrective actions.
Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, safety, and operating costs.
Evaluate plant equipment and recommend upgrades or replacements.
Support installation, startup, commissioning, and qualification of new equipment.
Maintain engineering documentation, equipment specs, drawings, and standards.
Lead lean manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, Six Sigma and CI initiatives.
Collaborate with maintenance and process technicians to improve machine performance.
Lead root-cause analysis of chronic equipment failures.
Develop preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
