Job summary

Kent is looking for a Lead Piping Engineer – Stress Analysis to be seconded to our client and based in their Houston, Texas office. You will provide technical oversight of piping engineering activities, with emphasis on piping flexibility and stress analysis, and review contractor calculations, specs, drawings and vendor information.

The preferred candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, 15+ years of piping-engineering experience, and a Professional Engineer (PE) license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
• Minimum of 15 years of piping-engineering experience, including stress analysis.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Experience reviewing deliverables produced by EPC contractors.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve piping flexibility and stress-analysis calculations.
• Verify piping stress models, load cases, and design criteria.
• Review piping systems for codes, client standards, and specs.
• Evaluate piping loads on equipment and review nozzle-load assessments.
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams and support field-engineering tasks.
