Job summary

Gulf Companies is seeking a Principal Designer – Piping to join our Houston team. You will perform complex piping designs, including P&IDs, piping plans and isometrics, and oversee BOMs using CAD tools in a leadership capacity.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in piping design, strong knowledge of codes/standards, and experience mentoring CAD staff. This is an on-site role based in Houston with growth opportunities in a global energy-focused environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years CAD experience and 10+ years design experience in piping projects.
• Experience with P&ID, piping plans/sections, and BOMs.
• Working knowledge of applicable codes and industry standards.
• Leadership or mentoring experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex designs and layouts of Piping & Instrument Diagrams, Piping Plans, Sections & Isometrics and Piping BOMs using CAD tools.
• Review vendor drawings and information to ensure conformance.
• Train and direct designers and CAD personnel on project tasks.
• Function in a lead role on projects when required.
