Job summary

US Architect of the Capitol is seeking a Pipefitter to troubleshoot, repair, and install pipefitting components across Capitol Complex sites, including historic buildings. The role involves performing journey to expert level work per WG-10/11 standards, under normal supervision, with essential duties during emergencies.

Qualifications

Ability to perform journey level pipefitting work with no more than normal supervision.
Inspecting and troubleshooting piping systems, equipment, and fixtures.
Using plumbing and pipefitting trade tools such as grinders, flanges, hand and power pipe threaders, pipe cutters, and pipe wrenches.
Installing, modifying, and repairing water heaters, hot water tanks, pumps, kitchen equipment, and sprinkler systems.
Testing piping systems and related equipment to ensure proper circulation, flow, pressure, and leak-free joints.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, repair, and install pipefitting system components in Capitol Complex sites.
Work with minimal supervision and adhere to essential duties during emergencies.
