Job summary

Matrix Project Services in Emporia, VA is seeking a Pipe Foreman to lead a pipe crew on industrial new construction, maintenance and turnaround projects. You will read blueprints, plan scopes, assign tasks, manage crews, and ensure safety and QA/QC across sites.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of pipefitting experience, 1+ year in supervision, and NCCER certification or Craft Skills Test proficiency. Expect field work in various weather with on-site safety training and adherence to company

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience with pipefitting processes for Industrial New Construction, Maintenance and Turnarounds.
• 1+ years’ supervisory experience in a craft environment.
• Must pass the Craft Skills Test at 70% or hold NCCER certification.
• Ability to read, understand and follow Matrix Service policies and procedures.
• Complete Matrix Service Safety training and site-specific training; pass drug testing and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and specifications to determine scope, materials and sizes.
• Manage crew processes, scheduling, costs and employee relations.
• Identify tools required for tasks and plan workflow.
• Highlight safety risks and enforce precautions.
• Demonstrate knowledge of pipe fitting processes and coordinate operations to optimize resources.
• Ensure QA/QC requirements are met on projects.
• Represent the company on bid walks and potential projects.
