The Role

As our Piercing Lead, you’ll be the heartbeat of the Mejuri Piercing Studio. Your mission is to elevate customer service, boost profitability, and create an environment where jewelry dreams come true. You will manage initial piercings, ensure safety and hygiene, and uphold the gold standard of excellence.

Customer Experience

• Oversee the piercing customer journey from greeting to aftercare education.
• Provide a calm, professional service to all clients and embody Mejuri values.
• Act as an ambassador, promoting brand awareness and building a strong local clientele.
• Communicate insights and opportunities back to the Store Manager and Store Services as needed.
• Collaborate closely with the Store Manager to improve studio flow and process.
• Work with staff to update schedules and the online booking service.
• Explain proper aftercare and potential infection signs, tailoring information to materials and individual clients.
• Thoroughly explain the service procedure, risks, and any medical concerns before piercing.
• Lead by example on the sales floor, validating the quality of the in‑store experience.
• Ensure positive customer experience and promotion of services, including piercing, engraving, and more.

Operations

• Oversee and manage all aspects of the piercing studio with the Store Services team and Store Manager.
• Support inventory management and feedback to maintain optimal product quantities.
• Uphold health and safety standards, cleanliness, and waste management.
• Ensure legal compliance, verify IDs and waivers, and stay updated on local regulations.
• Become an expert on the piercing jewelry assortment, including sizing, materials, gemstones, and metals.
• Support the check‑up and downsizing process for each client.
• Style, stack, and suggest products, helping clients design their own ear stack.
• Build appointment occupancy through promotion, education, and awareness of the studio.
• Communicate with Store Services to order necessary equipment such as needles, gloves, sterilizer, alcohol pads, Q‑TIPS, and paper towels.
• Maintain all required paperwork and client record keeping.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

• 2+ years of needle piercing experience.
• Experience with threadless jewellery.
• Current First Aid and Blood‑borne Pathogens OSHA certifications.
• Experience with an autoclave or Statim.
• Register with local law enforcement or meet permit requirements for the area (e.g., Practitioner Registration, First Aid/CPR, Vaccination).
• Understanding of local market piercing law requirements.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety protocols surrounding piercing procedures.
• Demonstrated service excellence in a consumer environment.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Desire to work in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment.
