Piedmont Columbus Midtown is seeking a Lead Physicist to provide physics services for planning and delivery of therapeutic radiation treatment. This role includes clinical setup leadership, QA, documentation, and mentorship of staff medical physicists.
The position reports to the Manager for Radiation Physics. The candidate will work collaboratively with radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, and therapists, performing quality assurance and contributing to program growth in external beam,
Lead Physicist, FT, Piedmont Columbus John B. Amos Cancer CenterProvides physics services related to the planning and delivery of therapeutic radiation treatment inaccordance with the Radiation Oncologist's prescription. Provides technical leadership including clinicalset-up expertise to radiation oncologists, dosimetrists and therapists. Performs quality assurance checksaccording to regulatory requirements and industry standards for all department equipment. Serves as amentor and team lead for staff medical physicists. Reports to the Manager for Radiation Physics.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:Masters of Science in Medical Physics, or related discipline.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:Five years of clinical experience as a medical physicist in a radiation therapy department.
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:Board Certified by the American Board of Radiology in Therapeutic Radiation PhysicsAbility to be listed as an authorized user on the State of Georgia Radioactive Material LicensesParticipation in the American Board of Radiology Maintenance of Certification Program
