Piedmont Healthcare seeks a Lead Medical Physicist for the Columbus John B. Amos Cancer Center to oversee physics services for therapeutic radiation treatment.
You will lead a team of physicists, provide technical leadership, and ensure QA and regulatory compliance across all equipment and programs. The role requires a Masters in Medical Physics, board certification, and extensive clinical experience in radiation therapy.
Lead Physicist, FT, Piedmont Columbus John B. Amos Cancer CenterProvides physics services related to the planning and delivery of therapeutic radiation treatment inaccordance with the Radiation Oncologist's prescription. Provides technical leadership including clinicalset-up expertise to radiation oncologists, dosimetrists and therapists. Performs quality assurance checksaccording to regulatory requirements and industry standards for all department equipment. Serves as amentor and team lead for staff medical physicists. Reports to the Manager for Radiation Physics.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:Masters of Science in Medical Physics, or related discipline.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:Five years of clinical experience as a medical physicist in a radiation therapy department.
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:Board Certified by the American Board of Radiology in Therapeutic Radiation PhysicsAbility to be listed as an authorized user on the State of Georgia Radioactive Material LicensesParticipation in the American Board of Radiology Maintenance of Certification Program
