Job Summary

The Lead PTA provides intermittent physical therapy services primarily at Avalon Park Independent Living Facility, including leading exercise classes, conducting screenings, and onboarding new patients. The role involves 75% direct patient care and 25% leadership within the facility, working under the supervision of a Physical Therapist (PT).

Responsibilities

• Adhere to agency policies and procedures.
• Provide physician-prescribed physical therapy as per the plan of care.
• Assist in improving or minimizing residual disabilities and returning patients to optimal function.
• Participate in patient care planning with other healthcare personnel.
• Perform skilled procedures as ordered by the physician and established by the PT.
• Lead exercise classes and instruct patients and families on home programs.
• Attend meetings, participate in performance improvement, and document patient progress timely.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited two-year college-level program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association.
• Current licensure in practicing states.
• Preferred two years of experience.
• Ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to participate in physical activities, including heavy lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
