Job Summary

The Lead Physical Therapist for the Spine Schroth Team evaluates and treats disabilities, injuries, rehabilitation, and diseases related to functional impairments. Using a variety of therapeutic techniques, the lead promotes functional independence and improves quality of life while supervising, coordinating, and evaluating the clinical staff utilized in therapy.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat disabilities, injuries, and diseases related to functional impairments.
• Help patients develop or regain physical or mental functioning through manual arts, crafts, functional, prevocational, vocational, homemaking skills, activities of daily living, sensorimotor, educational, recreational, and social activities.
• Supervise, coordinate, and evaluate the clinical staff utilized in therapy.
• Use therapeutic techniques to promote functional independence and improve quality of life.
• Delegate plan of care to assistive personnel and monitor quality of care.
• Evaluate therapy results by observing, noting, and assessing patient progress; recommend and implement adjustments and modifications.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Train and orient new employees.
• Participate in performance management, appraisal processes, and provide regular feedback.
• Assist with inspections or audits to ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies, department PI activities, and patient safety programs.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy required; Doctorate preferred.
• 1–2 years of physical therapist experience preferred.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Licensed Physical Therapist in the State of Florida.
• Current American Heart Association BLS/CPR for Healthcare Provider required.
