Job summary

Jabil, a leading global engineering and manufacturing partner, seeks a Lead Photonics System Engineer to advance Co-Packaged-Optics systems for hyperscale datacenter deployments. You will drive design and manufacturing engineering across central and site-based teams, with early client engagement to capture requirements and mitigate yield risks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or similar field required.
• 6+ years of photonics communication system development or product engineering in the datacom/telecom industry.
• Hands-on experience with DC/RF electro-optical test benches; basic test automation coding in Python.
• Willingness to travel up to 70% domestically and internationally.
• Production-scale photonics manufacturing experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide product subject matter expertise to support manufacturing line bringup and NPI for CPO systems, focusing on process design, yield analysis, and root-causing failures.
• Develop test strategy, quality control gates, and rework flows with test and industrial engineering teams.
• Define yield, throughput, and data dashboards for SPC implementation and yield improvement.
• Engage with clients to funnel in specs and requirements for CPO system design.
• Support DFM and FMEA guidance during product design phases.
• Train and guide factory product engineers through NPI and ramp phases.
• Maintain ongoing engagement with factory ops and engineering to drive process improvements.
