Job summary

The position involves hands-on phlebotomy duties, staffing coverage, and ongoing staff development under the leadership of the Supervisor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• PBT (ASCP) certification required.
• Minimum of one year experience in phlebotomy.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the hiring, training, and evaluation for phlebotomy service personnel.
• Teaches phlebotomy procedures to less-skilled personnel.
• Provides coaching and performance improvement plans for team members not meeting standards.
• Assists with communication and problem solving intra- and interdepartmentally.
• Performs all duties of a phlebotomist.
• Assists in providing for adequate staffing for phlebotomy services.
• Provides coverage during phlebotomy absences and vacations.
• Assists with revising and updating the phlebotomy training program.
• Assists with maintaining and writing policies and procedures relating to phlebotomy services.
