Job summary

Natera is hiring a Senior Phlebotomist for our Dover, Delaware location. This IOP position involves identifying the best blood collection methods, preparing specimens for testing, and performing venipunctures and finger sticks.

The role requires at least 5 years of phlebotomy experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and state-specific phlebotomy certification if required. Work includes HIPAA/PHI privacy training and coordination with nursing and lab staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years phlebotomy experience.
• High School Diploma (or equivalent) required.
• Phlebotomy Certificate (if required by State)

Responsibilities

• Verifies test requisitions by comparing information with nursing station log; reporting discrepancies.
• Verifies patient identity by reading patient identification.
• Obtains blood specimens by venipuncture and finger sticks.
• Maintains specimen integrity using aseptic technique and department procedures.
• Tracks collected specimens by initialing, dating, and noting times of collection.
• Maintains quality results by following procedures and recording results in QC log.
• Resolves unusual test orders by contacting physician or pathologist and notifying supervisor.
• Uses HIPAA/PHI privacy training and maintains PHI securely.
• Logistical management/printing of patient reports for the area.
• Scheduling courier pickups (FedEx or Medspeed).
