Job summary

Mount Sinai Medical Center of Florida, Inc. seeks a Lead Phlebotomist to ensure timely blood collections and smooth pathology workflow at our Aventura, FL location.

The role requires proficiency in venipuncture, blood culture collection, infant draws, and blood bank tasks, with oversight responsibilities for staff orientation and competency assessments. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma and at least 2 years of phlebotomy experience, plus a commitment to safety and quality in specimen

Qualifications

• Completion of a venipuncture training program or medical assistant training.
• Minimum two years of prior venipuncture experience with competency across specimen collection.
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to lab safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assumes responsibility for adequate staffing and on-time blood collections.
• Monitors workflow to ensure completion of shift work and assigns tasks as needed.
• Performs routine venipuncture, blood culture collection, baby venipuncture, and blood bank tasks.
• Communicates findings and documents any unusual occurrences to supervisor.
• Maintains supplies and adheres to PPE and biohazard disposal policies.
