Job summary

• Completion of training program in phlebotomy or medical assisting preferred; experience can be substituted for education requirements.
• High School Diploma required.

Responsibilities

• Communicates at shift change and follows through on pending specimens.
• Determines specimen priority and takes appropriate action.
• Draws blood bank specimens using proper technique and 100% accuracy.
• Labels specimens with all requisition information immediately after collection.
• Maintains PPE, hygiene, and safety standards; reports issues to nursing staff.
• Ensures patient identification matches test requests before collection.
