Job summary

UofL Health's Jewish Hospital Laboratory in Louisville seeks a Lead Phlebotomist for the third shift (7:00 PM - 5:30 AM). The role requires expertise in blood collection, specimen processing, documentation, and adherence to Infection Control and HIPAA policies.

You will interact professionally with patients and staff, demonstrate AIDET, maintain confidentiality, and support lab operations through timely transport and accurate labeling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of certified phlebotomy program is preferred.
• CPR certification is required.
• Phlebotomy certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy procedures accurately and within established turn-around times.
• Transports specimens to the laboratory in a timely manner.
• Answers phone calls and provides information in a courteous and professional manner.
• Maintains documentation for medical necessity and ensures specimen integrity.
• Adheres to safety standards dictated by the hospital and regulatory agencies.
