Job summary

Qualifications

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • 6 months of phlebotomy experience
  • National Certification (NCCT or ASCP) or equivalent
  • Knowledge of venipuncture techniques
  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Lead phlebotomy team direction to achieve optimum workflow.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable legal requirements and lab policies.
  • Demonstrate exceptional patient experience and quality outcomes.
  • Support the Supervisor in day-to-day operations and staff guidance.

Job Summary

The Lead Phlebotomist provides day-to-day direction to the Phlebotomy team in achieving optimum workflow while providing an exceptional experience. This individual supports the Supervisor by performing a combination of activities while ensuring all procedures and policies are adhered to. Performs phlebotomy duties in compliance with applicable legal requirements and established laboratory policies. Demonstrates H3W behaviors with a focus on exceptional patient experience and quality outcomes.

Qualifications
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Or, combination of training and experience
  • 6 months of phlebotomy experience
  • National Certification (NCCT or ASCP) or equivalent
  • Knowledge of venipuncture techniques
  • Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude
  • Good keyboarding skills with ability to learn various laboratory application and HHC computer systems
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Ability to handle different patient population including difficult patients.
  • Strong trouble shooting and problem solving skills
  • Ability to operate required lab equipment including pneumatic tube
