An established industry player seeks a Lead Pharmacy Technician to enhance medication access services. The Lead Pharmacy Technician in Medication Access Services supports UVA Health's Specialty Pharmacy medication access initiatives by facilitating benefits investigations, prior authorizations, appeals, reauthorizations, grants, foundations, copay cards (where applicable), and patient financial assistance. This role serves as a subject matter expert, point-of-contact for operations, provides team training and quality oversight, and ensures compliance with accreditation standards and patient access goals. The technician collaborates with pharmacists, providers, clinic staff, industry stakeholders, and payers to assist patients in starting or maintaining therapy across specialty, rare, and cell & gene (CGT) service lines.
Education: High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree or higher preferred.
Experience: Two years of relevant experience required.
License/Certification: Virginia Pharmacy Technician Registration required; CPhT credential through NHA or PTCB required. Certification deadline applies for hires before February 1, 2020.
Standing for prolonged periods, proficient communication, auditory and visual skills, attention to detail, and ability to lift/push/pull less than 20 lbs.
