Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System in Houston, TX is seeking a Pharmacy Technician III to support the Pharmacist in providing pharmaceutical care, including I.V. admixture and unit dose operations.

This role also involves training staff, coordinating department activities, and assisting in performance improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have hospital pharmacy experience, strong knowledge of medical terminology, and proficiency with PYXIS and computer tools.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Texas State Board of Pharmacy registration required or Pharmacist intern registration.
• ACPE I.V Certification preferred; Sterile Product certification required if compounding sterile products.

Responsibilities

• Select prescribed medications according to dosage/strength on patient file or cart-fill list.
• Deliver medications to patient care areas.
• Stock and monitor drug inventory levels.
• Inspect and maintain emergency medication trays.
• Prepare intravenous antimicrobials, large volume parenterals, TPN solutions and epidurals.
• Document quality improvement activities for the I.V. Room.
