Job summary

Duke HomeCare & Hospice in Durham, NC is seeking a Pharmacy Technician II to support the IV room and sterile compounding under supervision. You will assist the Operations Pharmacist and IV Lead Technician, perform quality checks, and help ensure safe medication preparation according to USP 797/800 guidelines.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Tech II requires NC Board of Pharmacy registration within 180 days and certification (PTCB or ExCPT).
• Education includes Tech I/II requirements and related training program completion.
• Sterile compounding or clean room experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Operations Pharmacist and IV Lead Technician in maximizing efficiency in the pharmacy.
• Pre-checks compounding materials, verifies labels and documents for accuracy.
• Performs and records quality control activities including temperature and humidity checks.
• Supports accurate IV medication compounding under strict aseptic technique.
