Job summary

Harris Health System seeks a Supervisor Pharmacist to lead pharmacy operations across Smith Clinic, Casa De Amigos, and Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital.

You will oversee daily workflows, supervise staff, ensure formulary adherence, and promote medication safety while supporting clinical decisions and professional development. The role requires strong clinical knowledge, leadership, communication, and analytical skills to advance patient care within a large public health system.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited School of Pharmacy required
• Doctor of Pharmacy preferred
• Texas Pharmacist License or eligibility; must obtain licensure within 90 days of employment
• BLS certification within 90 days of employment
• ACLS certification required for inpatient positions (preferred for outpatient)
• IV Sterile Certification required for inpatient areas and Fondren Pharmacy
• Texas Pharmacist Preceptor Certification preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of progressive, relevant pharmacy experience
• Residency (PGY1 ASHP) highly preferred
• Strong written communication and professional report-writing abilities
• Pharmacy operations, medication management, formulary adherence, and regulatory compliance
• Excellent analytical, mathematical, and medical terminology knowledge
• Supervision of staff and workflow coordination
• Research knowledge and statistical abilities
• Design knowledge and skills

Responsibilities

• Lead daily workflows across multiple clinics to ensure safe, efficient pharmacy operations
• Supervise staff and coordinate workflow to meet regulatory and professional standards
• Support formulary adherence and medication safety through clinical interventions
• Provide high-quality education and participate in clinical decision-making
