Job summary

VPI Compounding Pharmacy seeks an experienced Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) to oversee daily operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and lead the pharmacy team in Centennial, CO. The role focuses on compounding oversight, quality, safety, and patient care, with mentorship for staff and continuous process improvement.

The PIC will review prescriptions, supervise compounding and dispensing, maintain records, and support audits while upholding high standards.

Qualifications

• PharmD from an accredited school of pharmacy is required.
• Active Colorado pharmacist license in good standing is required.
• Minimum 3 years of compounding pharmacy experience preferred.
• Previous PIC, supervisory, or leadership experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of pharmacy regulations, USP standards, and quality expectations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the designated Pharmacist in Charge and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Oversee daily operations, workflow, dispensing standards, and compounding practices.
• Ensure compliance with Board of Pharmacy, DEA, USP standards, and SOPs.
• Provide mentorship and support to pharmacists, technicians, and staff.
• Review and verify prescriptions for accuracy and legal compliance.
• Maintain pharmacy records, licenses, registrations, and training requirements.
• Support inventory oversight and handling of medications and supplies.
• Prepare for inspections and audits by maintaining organized records.
• Collaborate with prescribers and leadership to improve workflow and patient care.
