Job description

Join the Miller Pest Team as a Service Technician – Embrace Our Core Values and Family-Owned Spirit

Are you someone who not only identifies problems but also takes immediate action to solve them? Have you built lasting relationships in your previous roles? Miller Pest & Termite is a family-owned company that embodies the following core values:

  • Initiative: be proactive and create solutions!

  • Meeting Our Commitments: meet obligations and be accountable!

  • Professionalism: strive for excellence in every task, interaction, and outcome!

  • Authenticity: speak openly, act with integrity, and foster trust through honesty!

  • Continuous Growth: Embrace challenges, seek knowledge, and evolve every day!

  • Trust: your actions should match your words!

If these values resonate with you, then Miller Pest is the company for you.

Why join the Miller Pest team?

At Miller Pest, we believe in an environment of integrity, service, excellence, and community involvement. By owning the experience, we keep our promises and fulfill the need for peace of mind at every customer interaction. We value enthusiasm, humor, respect, and the initiative to go beyond.

Lead Pest Control Technician duties:

  • Lead & coordinate daily field execution (approx. 20–30% of time): support scheduling/reroutes, time-off coverage, service recovery, and escalation support for customer complaints/callbacks in partnership with the Service Manager.

  • Lead the Team: Act as the primary point of contact for your crew day to day — assigning routes, checking in throughout the day, and stepping in to problem-solve when a job doesn't go as planned. Model the standard you expect from others through your own work.

  • Hold the Team Accountable: Conduct ride-alongs and quality checks, and give direct, constructive feedback when service standards, safety protocols, or callback numbers slip. Follow through on corrective action — documenting concerns, setting clear expectations for improvement, and partnering with the Service Manager on next steps when performance doesn't turn around.

  • Drive team quality and culture: reinforce service standards through new-hire training/retraining, coaching/role-playing, feedback on callbacks/quality trends, and serve as a values/leadership ambassador (motivation, rewards, recognition); assist with light facilities-related tasks as needed.

  • Inspecting and Treating: You have a proven track record of taking accountability for your projects, going beyond just inspecting and treating, but also educating clients on preventative measures.

  • Effective Communication and Customer Focus: Demonstrate teamwork and customer satisfaction by communicating effectively with team members and customers. Focus…

  • Quality Maintenance: Uphold our standards and integrity by maintaining high service standards on all accounts.

  • Initiative and Responsibility: You’re not just looking for a job, but a career where you can grow. You take the initiative to seek additional training and responsibility, going beyond your regular duties.

  • Sales and Service Suggestions: Utilize a team-oriented approach and open communication to suggest and sell services effectively and to meet customer needs.

  • Training and Meetings: You are keen on both independent learning and collaborative growth through team meetings and training sessions, always looking for ways to improve your skills and those of the team.

  • Flexible Hours: Show your positive attitude and willingness to work flexible hours.

  • Safe Driving: Operate company vehicles with adherence to safety standards and traffic laws.

We Require Technicians to:

  • Experience Requirements: You have a history of public-facing roles where you had to adapt your communication style to meet the needs of diverse clients. You are tech-savvy and comfortable learning new software.

  • Physical Requirements: Lift and carry up to 50 pounds; work with insects and rodents; pass a respirator fit test; maintain short, professionally kept beards.

  • Legal Requirements: Possess a valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets company standards; pass pre-employment tests.

What We Offer:

  • Career Growth: Excellent opportunities for advancement.

  • Learning Opportunities: Full pest control training and industry orientation.

  • Work Environment: Fun atmosphere with uniforms, company cell phone, and vehicle use.

  • Benefits: Health, dental, vision insurance; 401k matching; life insurance; vacation; referral and additional bonuses.

  • Incentive Trips: Great vacations for president's club trip winners and their spouses.

We also encourage team bonding through fun events like:

  • BBQs: Gather with your colleagues for great food and company.

  • Paintball: Engage in thrilling team-based activities.

  • Friday at the Farm: Enjoy a band and food trucks in a relaxed setting.

  • Break Out Rooms: Test your team's problem-solving skills in interactive escape rooms.

  • Holiday Parties: Celebrate the season with the Miller Pest family.

  • Contests and More: Participate in exciting contests and other engaging team events.

We also believe in giving back to our community:

  • We pick families in need during the holidays and donate our services to them.

  • In October, we raise money for breast cancer, directly helping local people affected by cancer.

  • We proudly sponsor local sports teams.

If these values resonate with you, and you look forward to engaging with your team in these fun activities, then Miller Pest is the company for you.
