Qualifications
- JD from an accredited law school
- Active Texas license in good standing
- Experience in personal injury litigation including discovery and negotiations
- Ability to independently manage a caseload and meet deadlines
- Strong legal research and writing skills
- Effective client communication and advocacy
Responsibilities
- Own a caseload of personal injury matters from filing through resolution or trial
- Assess liability, damages, and settlement value; strategize with clients
- Draft and file pleadings, motions, and discovery, and manage litigation documents
- Lead depositions and coordinate with witnesses and experts
- Prepare for hearings, mediations, and trial; present in court
- Negotiate with insurance carriers and opposing counsel; keep clients informed
