Job summary

Martin Marietta is seeking a Lead Person to join our team in Hickory, NC. The ideal candidate will be safety conscious, dependable, and motivated, and will communicate standards of excellence in daily work assignments to meet safe production as outlined by Management.

Travel between the Hickory and Statesville quarries is required. A typical day includes operating equipment, performing inspections, enforcing safety rules, coordinating with supervisors, and preparing production and maintenance

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Three years of experience in building materials, mining or aggregates.
• Willingness to travel between quarry locations (Hickory and Statesville).

Responsibilities

• Perform standard office and plant duties and operate mobile equipment.
• Communicate safety standards through daily interactions and meetings.
• Conduct regular safety, housekeeping and mechanical inspections.
• Assist with maintenance planning and reporting.
• Complete annual performance evaluations and participate in safety committees.
• Support plant manager and supervisors in mining plan development and forecasts.
• Travel between Hickory and Statesville quarries as needed.

Job description

Martin Marietta is seeking a Lead Person to join our team . The ideal individual will be safety conscious, dependable, and motivated. This individual will be responsible for communicating standards of excellence in the daily work assignments of assigned team in order to meet safe production as outlined by Management. The Lead person will communicate standards through stated goals, daily interactions, team meetings, providing input on employee performance evaluations, and recommending disciplinary actions. This position requires travel from the quarry to other locations.

Hickory Quarry and Statesville Quarry

Hickory, NC and Statesville, NC

Hours: 4PM - 2AM

A typical day for a (n) Lead Person m ay include:

Performing standard office duties, plant duties, equipment repairs and operates mobile equipment

Establishing and maintains effective communications within all areas of operation

Performing regular inspections for safety, housekeeping and mechanical issues in all areas of the operation

Implementing and applying all safety rules, regulations and procedures of mine and property as set forth by federal, state, and local agencies and policies, as well as company guidelines and safety standards

Working closely with the Sr. Team Coordinator and Production Supervisor to insure implementation of scheduled maintenance on all equipment

Completing annual performance evaluations on team members

Participating on plant safety committee

Working with the Plant Manager, Production Supervisor, and Sr. Team Coordinator in developing mining plans, profit plans, AFE'S, and monthly forecast

Completing daily production, safety and maintenance reports accurately

Maintaining plant housekeeping and appearance standards and product quality as established by federal, state, and local agencies and policies, as well as company guidelines and safety standards

Aiding in the training of co-workers as needed

Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor

You may be a good fit if you :

Possess a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience to perform the responsibilities associated with this position

Have t hree (3) years of experience in in the building materials, mining or aggregates industry
