Job summary

Martin Marietta is seeking a Lead Person for Garner Quarry in Garner, North Carolina. The role emphasizes safety, dependable performance, and leadership to guide daily team tasks and meet production standards. Travel between quarry locations is required.

The position includes coordinating with supervisors, conducting performance evaluations input, and supporting plant operations through safety and quality initiatives. Hours are 6:30AM–4:30PM, with weekends as necessary.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years related experience.
• Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities: Production equipment operation, Troubleshooting, OSHA and MSHA regulations, Time management, Problem solving, Detail orientated, Communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform standard office and plant duties and operate mobile equipment.
• Establish and maintain effective communications across operation areas.
• Conduct regular safety, housekeeping and mechanical inspections.
• Enforce safety rules and procedures per regulations and company policies.
• Assist in scheduled maintenance planning with leadership.
• Complete daily production, safety, and maintenance reports.

The Lead person will communicate standards through stated goals, daily interactions, team meetings, providing input on employee performance evaluations, and recommending disciplinary actions. This position requires travel from the quarry to other locations.

A Typical Day For A(n) Lead Person May Include

• Performing standard office duties, plant duties, equipment repairs and operates mobile equipment
• Establishing and maintains effective communications within all areas of operation
• Performing regular inspections for safety, housekeeping and mechanical issues in all areas of the operation
• Implementing and applying all safety rules, regulations and procedures of mine and property as set forth by federal, state, and local agencies and policies, as well as company guidelines and safety standards
• Working closely with the Sr. Team Coordinator and Production Supervisor to insure implementation of scheduled maintenance on all equipment
• Completing annual performance evaluations on team members
• Participating on plant safety committee
• Working with the Plant Manager, Production Supervisor, and Sr. Team Coordinator in developing mining plans, profit plans, AFE'S, and monthly forecast
• Completing daily production, safety and maintenance reports accurately
• Maintaining plant housekeeping and appearance standards and product quality as established by federal, state, and local agencies and policies, as well as company guidelines and safety standards
• Aiding in the training of co-workers as needed
• Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications

Minimum Education Details

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience

• 4+ years related experience
