Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA), Integrated Mission Systems (IMS), seeks a Lead Personnel Security Specialist to oversee and enhance our personnel security program under the National Industrial Security Program (NISP).

• Must have US citizenship with an active secret security clearance and ability to obtain TS/SCI within a year.
• Bachelor's degree with 2-4 years of personnel security experience in cleared environment.
• Advanced knowledge of NISPOM PERSEC requirements and adjudicative guidelines.
• Hands-on experience with DISS and NBIS; managing investigations and eligibility workflows.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills, able to handle sensitive information.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills when interfacing with government customers and internal stakeholders.

Responsabilidades

• Serve as SME for all PERSEC activities, including clearance initiation, maintenance, incident reporting, and separation actions.
• Oversee DISS/NBIS processing, investigations, eligibility updates, in-processing/out-processing, and VARs.
• Lead PERSEC daily workflow management, case review and process improvement.
• Conduct QA reviews of clearance submissions and adjudicative documents.
• Interpret and apply NISPOM/ICD requirements, DoD policies, and agency guidance.
• Coordinate with government representatives, program managers and HR to resolve issues.
• Maintain accurate records, metrics, and reporting for audits and leadership briefings.
• Support insider threat reporting requirements.
• Provide training and guidance on clearance procedures and reporting.
• Assist with security incident reporting and corrective action tracking.
• Participate in self-inspections, internal audits and government assessments.
• Provide surge or project support across security department as needed.
