Job summary

Henry Ford Health is seeking a Perioperative Assistant to support the Surgical Services team in Michigan. Under supervision, you will assist with building services, patient transport, and patient preparation, ensuring patient safety and adherence to procedures.

You will coordinate with the Surgical Services Leadership Team and lead a group of four or more perioperative assistants, performing physically demanding tasks and maintaining safety standards daily.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
• At least two years of experience as a Peri-Operative Assistant (POA) required.
• Must possess and maintain BLS-A certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides service support for Surgical Services related to building services, patient transport, and patient preparation.
• Assists Surgical Services personnel in positioning and maintaining patient safety.
• Leads a team of four or more perioperative assistants.
• Follows established policies and procedures; reports to the Surgical Services Leadership Team.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift; works in environments with varying conditions.
