Job summary

Ochsner LSU Health is seeking a registered nurse to lead patient care using the nursing process within the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code, and Standards of Practice.

This role delegates, directs and supports licensed and ancillary staff to ensure quality outcomes and culturally sensitive care across the care team.

The RN will participate in quality improvement, uphold laws and organizational policies, and have opportunities for professional growth within a supportive, patient‑focused environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
• Current RN license in state of practice and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Effectively uses the nursing process in the delivery of patient care.
• Assesses learning needs and implements teaching strategies for diverse patients and families.
• Communicates, delegates, and manages nursing team resources on the interdisciplinary team.
• Uses data to evaluate and promote change for optimal outcomes.
• Supports patient satisfaction and staff morale, aligning with professional nursing practice.
• Adapts communication and care to respect privacy and diversity.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
