Job summary

Ochsner LSU Health is seeking a registered nurse to lead patient care using the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses, and Standards of Practice. The role involves delegating and directing licensed and ancillary team members, ensuring quality outcomes, and upholding culturally sensitive care.

You will participate in maintaining compliance, educating patients and families, and collaborating with the care team to meet unit and department goals.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing (preferred).
• Current RN license in state of practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Certification in Clinical Specialty Area (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Uses the nursing process to deliver patient care.
• Assesses learning needs and teaches diverse patients, families, and groups.
• Communicates, delegates, and manages nursing team resources and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team.
• Uses data and knowledge to evaluate and promote evidence-based changes to achieve outcomes.
• Promotes customer satisfaction and employee morale and advances nursing practice.
• Adapts interaction to the patient population, respecting privacy and cultural considerations.
