Job summary

Capgemini is seeking a Perception Engineer in Dallas, TX to lead design and deployment of perception algorithms across autonomous vehicle platforms. You will architect real-time C++ processing pipelines for object detection, tracking, and sensor fusion, and mentor junior engineers on the Perception team.

Responsibilities include productizing perception systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring robust integration at client sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or related field, Master’s preferred.
• 4–7 years of experience in perception systems for autonomous vehicles/robotics.
• Proficient in C++ (C++11+) with production-grade, multithreaded Linux applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and deployment of perception algorithms for LiDAR, radar, camera, and sensor fusion.
• Architect real-time C++ processing pipelines for object detection, tracking, and sensor fusion in embedded environments.
• Define sensor selection criteria and integration standards for perception systems.
• Drive root cause analysis and algorithm refinement for perception failures.
• Collaborate with planning, controls, and systems engineers to align outputs with autonomy architecture.
• Deploy and configure perception systems at customer sites and provide technical leadership during integration.
• Mentor junior Perception Engineers and conduct code reviews.
