Location: Remote

Position Overview

We’re seeking a volunteer to help lead a team of 6-10 Industrial and Organizational Psychology interns in completing an organizational development program for a small startup. This role involves onboarding, learning about program and project methodologies, helping finalize the program design, and collaborating with the Co-Founder to drive the project to completion to enhance organizational effectiveness. The volunteer tenure is flexible but may be as short as 6-8 weeks.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of interns, guiding them in program development.
• Apply psychological methods to improve employee well-being and performance.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of the organizational development program.
• Develop and analyze tools such as surveys and training programs to meet organizational goals.
• Collaborate with the Co-Founder to ensure project success and alignment with objectives.
• Manage project structure using a cloud-based project management tool.

Qualifications

• PhD (preferred) or Master’s in Industrial and Organizational Psychology.
• 3-5 years of experience in organizational development, with proven team leadership (at least 3-5 people).
• Strong communication, decision-making, research skills, and ability to work autonomously.
• Proficiency in R for assessment response analysis coding.
• Experience designing and implementing organizational development projects.

The role is unpaid, with a commitment of 10-12 hours per week, flexible hours.

The responsibilities leverage I/O psychology expertise to address startup needs, including:

• Leadership and Mentorship: Lead a team of 6-10 interns, providing guidance and fostering professional growth to ensure team cohesion and milestone achievement.
• Project Development and Delivery: Collaborate with the Co-Founder to develop and deliver organizational development projects using I/O psychology principles to assess and improve effectiveness, well-being, and performance.
• Program Design and Implementation: Design and implement tools like surveys, training, and assessments to identify issues and drive improvements.
• Solution Creation: Develop solutions to enhance organizational health, efficiency, and employee satisfaction.
• Risk Analysis: Identify and design procedures to mitigate risks related to employee behavior.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain regular communication with stakeholders to ensure project alignment with organizational goals.
