Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking an Engineering Supervisor for the VIRGINIA Tactical Electronic Systems Engineering group to lead a ~10-person engineering team on electronic systems across projects, with responsibility for design, development and vendor oversight for the Common Weapon Launcher.

The ideal candidate will have a BS in Engineering, at least five years of engineering experience, and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's of Science degree in Engineering.
• Minimum of five years of engineering experience.
• Experience leading a team.
• Ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance.
• Familiarity with Cabling Diagrams, Electrical Assembly and Detail Drawings, Vendor Drawings, Integrated Logistics Products, and Shipyard Test Procedures.
• Knowledge of US Navy Combat and Payload Systems.
• Experience with CMMI and Systems Engineering Principles.
• Familiarity with EB Teamcenter design processes.
• Familiarity with EB external vendor management processes.
• Current DoD Secret clearance or higher.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the VIRGINIA Tactical Electronic Systems Engineering group across projects.
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders and customers including Design, Operations, Purchasing and Supplier Quality, Planning, VIRGINIA Design and Construction Program Offices, SUPSHIP, NAVSEA, and Newport News Shipbuilding.
• Oversee design and development of electronics with vendor management for the Common Weapon Launcher.
• Ensure safety, security, reliability, and maintainability in line with DoD requirements.
