Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat seeks experienced engineers to design, develop, and qualify mission-critical payload launch and handling systems for Virginia-class, SSNX, and AUKUS platforms. You will drive in-house design, qualification, and integration, work with vendors, and own end-to-end production processes.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of experience and a B.S. in Electrical, Systems, CS/CE, Robotics, or related fields, with strong communication and independent-work capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems, Robotics, Mechanical or Aerospace engineering.
• 5+ years of industry related experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and qualify mission and safety-critical electronic payload launch, control, and handling systems for VIRGINIA, SSNX, and AUKUS platforms.
• Oversee in-house design, development, and qualification for new systems and fleet upgrades.

Overview

Department 440 SSN Payload Launch Control is hiring for experieneced engineers for systems, hardware, software, test, and project engineering. Engineers will be responsibile for mission and safety critical electronic payload launch, control, and handling systems on VIRGINIA, SSNX, and AUKUS platforms.

This includes in-house design, development, and qualification for new systems and fleet upgrades, vendor oversight, new payload and platform integration, trainers, and ownership of the end to end production process, utilizing systems engineering principles.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems, Robotics, Mechanical or Aerospace engineering


• 5+ years of industry related experience

Preferred:

• Knowledge of US Navy Combat Systems


• Experience with CMMI and Systems Engineering Principles
