Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical drafting/engineering education (2+ years) preferred.
• Minimum 5 years hands-on pattern making experience; leadership ability.
• Ability to read engineered drawings in metric and English.
• Strong GD&T interpretation skills.
• Experience with wood and composite patterns; urethane/fiberglass pattern systems a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize safety in all tasks.
• Construct wood and composite patterns per GIW standards.
• Troubleshoot pattern-related issues impacting operations.
• Perform quality checks on new patterns and first-piece castings.
• Read and interpret drawings using metric and English units.
• Apply General Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Work with urethane and fiberglass pattern systems.
• Operate woodworking equipment safely and efficiently.
• Direct laborers during pattern construction tasks.
• Communicate effectively within a team.
