Job summary

Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, TX is seeking a Lead Patient Transporter to oversee one or more transportation teams, ensure safety, and uphold department standards. You will coach staff, maintain equipment, and coordinate Lift Tech, Dispatch, and Courier activities to support patient movement.

Requirements include National Provider BLS within 30 days, at least 1 year of patient transportation/dispatch experience, and at least 1 year of healthcare customer service.

Qualifications

• Within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.
• At least 1 year Patient Transportation and/or Dispatching experience.
• At least 1 year Customer service experience, preferably in a health care setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide centralized knowledge base for all department duties and functions.
• Coach staff and ensure safety and proper function of equipment.
• Report issues to Supervisors and support quality assurance and infection control programs.
• May train less-experienced team members.
• Ensure adherence to facility policies and procedures.

Description

Under the direction of the Supervisor - Patient Transportation, the Lead Patient Transporter maintains departmental services; providing a centralized knowledge base for all departmental duties and functions, including Lift Tech, Dispatch, Courier, and Transportation programs. Adheres to and ensures departmental adherence to all established facility policies and procedures to include quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control programs by coaching staff, sound decision making, maintaining the safe, proper function of all patient movement equipment, and reporting issues to Supervisors. May have training and coaching responsibilities for less-experienced team members. Minimal supervision required.

Required Qualifications:
